A favorite time of year in Seattle is awaiting the arrival of wildflower season. A variety of colorful blooms begin popping up all around the region at the beginning of Spring. One of my most popular spots to capture family photos is located about a half an hour away from downtown Seattle.

Discovery Park is located in the picturesque neighborhood of Magnolia. It is popular with the residents for its wide angle mountain range views of the water, and the sweet pea wildflower blooms in vibrant pink and white that cover the park area. It’s a great way to experience a little bit of Summer magic right here in the city.
Dress the part
This recent family session amongst the wildflowers happened in the late afternoon to preserve their kiddo bedtime routines. I love how this family showed up so beautifully for their family photos with lighter colored outfit choices. This softer neutral palette tends to show up better for family photos against the vibrant pink wildflowers. Tiny floral patterns on their dresses was a sweet nod to the floral backdrop that covers this field.
