Spring Wildflower Session at Discovery Park

The Storyteller

One of my favorite spots for outdoor family Spring family sessions is about a 20 minute drive away from downtown Seattle. I met this beautiful mother during a hosted photoshoot and asked if she was willing to model for me during golden hour at when the wildflowers were out at Discovery Park. Spring in Seattle among the wildflowers, is a great time to capture photos with your family.

Soft Golden Light

It is arguably the most popular time for family photographers simply because it gives the most flattering light for skin tones. I know for me personally, it feels like the most romantic part of the day. It’s the absolute perfect time for me to ask my families to snuggle, play, and interact with each other.

Wildflowers Blooming

During a certain time of the year, wildflowers bloom at Discovery Park and it’s truly a magical time. The vibrant pinks and whites of sweet pea flowers pop up everywhere around the park. It’s fun for smaller kids to explore the flowers, and it feels magical for older kids as they explore the bunches of flowers.

Pockets Of Light

Following the light during golden hour is something you will actively see me do when you book me for an hour long session. As the sun begins to set, I carefully watch the sun and when I see it start to disappear, you will find me saying that it’s time to move. A change of scenery, brighter sun, I adjust my camera settings if necessary, and then we can create some more magical family photos. With all of our photos requests taken care of at the beginning of the session, we were able to capture some relaxed, candid mother and daughter portraits.

Interested in booking a Motherhood session with me? My Storyteller package is the perfect length of time to document a beautiful family story. See you in the field just before the sun sets.

with love,
