Mountain Adventure Family Session at Mount Si

The Storyteller

Adventure photo sessions for family do not have to include long hikes. One of my favorite spots for photos is located about a 45 minute drive outside of Seattle in the town of North Bend. The reason I love this location is that it has a wide open field that is easy for kids to explore, and run in. The added advantage of a gorgeous mountain backdrop doesn’t hurt either. No permit fee is required here and there’s plenty of space for your family. To visit this location, you simply park and walk a small path to arrive right at the base of Mount Si.

Golden hour light

If you schedule your family session just before golden hour, the mountain in the background lights up. As the sun begins to set, it starts to turn a variety of colors! This beautiful family had a short drive from their home on the Eastside of Seattle and came ready to play with their kids – a key component to how successful their family session was. They wore light neutral colors that worked beautifully for their complexion and the Fall colors. I love that they incorporated whites and creams into their clothing because it allowed them to stand out from the light brown grass. I brought one of my Gigi Pip hats for Mom and her kids to play with. I think it adds a little bit of an adventure element.

Wide open spaces

The reason I love open spaces like this meadow at Mount Si, is that it allows them to just be themselves. Kids need to move their bodies and little boys sure love to show me how fast their little legs can go! These candid family moments make for some really heartwarming pictures that I’m always excited to deliver to my clients in their family gallery.

Perfect for Fall family photos

Mount Si is really gorgeous all year ’round, but I think it’s especially beautiful in the Fall season. If you’re interested in booking a family at this location, it’s never too early to reach out and schedule some time with me online. Book my Storyteller package to access this spot. See you there!

with love,
