Laguna Beach Travel Guide: A Local Photographer’s Favorite Spots

Featured

If you’re visiting Laguna Beach this year with your family, consider downloading my Laguna Beach travel guide for families. In it, I’m sharing a few of my favorite restaurants, cafés that I visit, and shopping spots to explore while you’re here. From cozy breakfast stops to breezy beachside lunches and evening strolls through downtown, there’s so much to enjoy at your own pace. If it’s your first visit or you’ve been here before, you’ll quickly see why locals never tire of these views.

Local Eats and Laid-Back Cafés

Living nearby means I get to experience Laguna Beach in all its moods — early mornings with coffee in hand, golden hour beach strolls, and casual dinners that stretch into sunset. As a family photographer, I’m often here capturing families in these same easygoing spaces. Here’s my Laguna Beach travel guide. It is filled with local favorites I’ve come to love and the kind of relaxed spots that make this town feel instantly familiar.

La Sirena Grill – Tacos and Downtown Strolls

One of the first local favorites recommended to us after moving here. Grab tacos, then wander through the nearby downtown shops for a laid-back afternoon ideal for families exploring Laguna Beach.

Lost Pier Cafe – Oceanfront Views & Easy Beach Day Eats

Perfect if you want a beautiful beach without the hassle of packing food. Located right on Aliso Beach (where skimboarding was invented) with plenty of paid parking. Come early in summer — the lobster roll and kid-friendly menu are worth it. This makes it a great stop in your travel guide for families visiting Laguna Beach.

Laguna Coffee Co. – Local Favorite Morning Stop

Laguna’s coffee scene is strong, but this one stands out for its cozy vibe and community feel. Bonus: check out Jedidiah Coffee’s sunny patio if you have time during your family trip to Laguna Beach.

Lido Marino Village – Designer Shops & Coastal Style

A short drive away in Newport Beach, this is your go-to for shopping, design inspiration, and good food. Park in the structure — most shops validate. This makes shopping easy as part of your family guide to Laguna Beach experiences.

Bear Flag Fish Co. – Locals’ Choice for Dinner with a view

A popular spot in Newport Beach with coastal views and fresh seafood. Reservations are smart, especially around sunset.
